Privacy Policy

This policy describes how the Escale app handles your data. Escale is a travel companion that helps you organize your road trips (itinerary, flights and hotels, budget, documents, maps).

1. Data controller

2. Principle: your data stays on your device

Escale works without an account and without any server on our side. All your information (trips, stops, documents, budget…) is stored locally on your device. We have no access to it and keep no copy.

3. Data processed

• Your trip content: destinations, stops, flights, hotels, activities, checklists, budgets and expenses, names of the travellers you add.
• Document vault: the documents you import (tickets, passport, bookings…) are kept on the device and protected by Face ID / Touch ID. Biometric authentication is handled by iOS; the app never accesses your biometric data.
• Location: with your permission, Escale uses your location for maps and context-aware features. It serves the app's functionality and is not shared with third parties by us.
• Weather: to show a destination's weather, the app queries Apple WeatherKit (which may involve sending a location to Apple).

4. Apple services

Escale relies on Apple services: MapKit (maps) and WeatherKit (weather), governed by Apple's privacy policy. The app uses no advertising, analytics or tracking tools (no ATT prompt).

5. Data sharing

Your data is neither sold nor shared with third parties. It only leaves your device for the technical functions above (maps, weather).

6. Retention and deletion

Your data is kept on your device for as long as you use the app. You can delete it from within the app, or erase everything by uninstalling the app.

7. Your rights (GDPR)

Since your data stays on your device and under your control, you can view, edit or delete it directly in the app. For any request: info@easytechpro.be. You may also contact the Belgian Data Protection Authority: dataprotectionauthority.be.

8. Children

Escale is not intended for young children and does not knowingly collect their data.
